Sipping wine should feel like discovery, not a test.

Wine tasting man and woman

One of the most important things to remember is that every person’s taste buds are unique. What you taste, smell, or enjoy in a glass is shaped by your own experiences, memories, and palate. That’s the beauty of wine, there’s no universal “right answer.”

Some people hesitate to share what they taste because they worry they’ll sound inexperienced. But here’s the truth: you don’t need to be an expert to enjoy wine. In fact, my opinion is that wine is meant to be enjoyed, not overanalyzed. If you taste raspberry, red stone fruit and minerality, then that’s what it is.

Your perception is valid because it’s yours.

If you’re not sure what you like yet, that’s completely normal. The best way to learn your preferences is to explore. Ask your server for the latest flight options and try three different wines side by side. Notice what stands out. Do you prefer something crisp? Something bold? Something soft and fruity? You don’t have to commit to a bottle to start understanding your palate, just taste, compare, and see what resonates.

Life is too short to get intimidated by wine. Let it be fun. Let it be curious. Let it be something you enjoy without pressure or pretense. The world of wine is wide and welcoming, and there’s a place in it for every kind of taster—from the seasoned sipper to the brand-new explorer.

Raise a glass to confidence, curiosity, and the joy of discovering what you love. Cheers to keeping wine simple.
